| Firefighters work to extinguish an early morning
fire at My Friend's Car Lot |
At 4:30 Saturday morning District 2 firefighters responded to a structure fire at My Friend's Car Lot in Belfair. When firefighters arrived they found a fully involved fire in a mobile home that served as an office building for the car lot. According to Fire Chief Beau Bakken, "firefighters were able to quickly knock down and extinguish the blaze located just behind the Safeway complex on the Roy Boad Road."
No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. All but two vehicles were saved in the effort. 18 firefighters responded to the fire with no injuries reported to firefighters. The mobile home was a total loss with an initial damage estimate of $40,000. The fire is currently under investigation by the Mason County Fire Marshal's office.
