Mason County Fire District 2 :: Assistant Chief Scott Cooper

Assistant Chief Scott Cooper started as a volunteer firefighter with the Poulsbo Fire Department in 1986. Became an EMT in 1987 and was hired as a career firefighter with the SUBASE Bangor Fire Department in October of 1987, Assistant Chief Cooper worked his way through the fire department ranks as a Fire Engine Driver Operator, Shift Captain, Battalion Chief of Emergency Medical Services, and was Promoted in 1999 to Assistant Fire Chief in Charge of Operations, this position he held until July of 2001 when he accepted a Shift Captain’s position with MCFD 2. January 1st 2010, Captain Cooper was promoted to Assistant Chief of Operations. Assistant Chief Cooper holds a degree in Fire Command Administration and has attended numerous National Fire Academy Classes. He currently serves as the Department’s Training & Safety Officer, Emergency Vehicle and equipment coordinator, Emergency Vehicle Accident Prevention Officer, and oversees the Student Firefighter Program.
