Firefighter Nick Dragovich and Firefighter/Paramedic Dave McCarthy recently completed Bates Technical College's 10 week intensive career fire academy.  This 400 hour plus academy included two days of live fire training at the North Bend training facility.  Both have completed additional fire training to receive their IFSAC Firefighter I and II along with IFSAC Hazardous Material training. 

Nick received the Chief's Company award and was picked by the instructors as the "Most Outstanding Recruit" among all students. Nick received these distinguished awards in light of the fact that as a volunteer firefighter he was the only student that was not employed as a full time firefighter. 

Dave McCarthy, a Washington State Paramedic, came to us less then a year ago from Eastern Washington without previous fire experience.  Dave was in the top of his class in the recruit academy, and like Nick excelled.  Dave has been a wonderful addition to the Fire District.

Mason County Fire District 2 is glad to welcome both Nick and Dave as a members of our fire team.  We know that both of them will continue to keep up the great work.
